Our research study execution process in practice

Our research study execution process in practice

Stakeholders interviews

Gather requirements - we work with your various cross-functional stakeholders to understand your business objectives, needs, and goals; who your users are and their profile make-up; and what difficult questions you want answered.

Research & recruiting plans

Use feedback from stakeholders to develop the research and recruiting plans. The contents (research solutions) of these plans are generally aligned with stakeholders’ objectives and goals. At this stage, the research methodology is defined.

Operational & project plans

All documents to support the research execution are developed. This include but not limited to: moderator script, observer script, test session guide, questionnaire, participants NDA, email invite, project timelines, user segments, screener, recruiting requirements, etc.

Conduct research

Depending on the type of research methodology and other variables, research sessions are conducted in either a in-lab (in person), remotely (moderated or un-moderated), self regulated dairy study, or in the case of a survey, the respondents are sent an invite to participate.

Collect & analyze data

This phase ensures that only valid, reliable, useful, and relevant data is collected in multiple format including but not limited to: written, audio, video. This raw data is normally what is called unstructured data. We go through a sophisticated process to analyze and interpret this data and package it in a way that becomes useful information that makes sense to everyone.

Prioritize research insights

Insights are prioritized based on product and/or design goals and user needs. This helps the team understands where to invest their efforts to get the most positive impact on product performance and user experience. Note that depending the research methods, different metrics can be used to measure which insights are critical to focus on.

Reporting

We write and present the final research insights report, which include actionable recommendations, executive summary so you can easily digest the key take-ways and finally a detailed report.

Research ROI

We translate qualitative research into quantitative analytics and use this information to project business performances (KPIs).

For example, a 20% increase in user task completion rate could mean a 1% increase in conversion rate and 5% increase in sales revenue.
